Getting Started

To get started, you first have to make a Contact. Someone has to be alerted when the site goes down. This contact needs a name, and a phone number or email address. Then select how you want this contact to be alerted [Phone Call, SMS, Email]. Calls and texts from Dead Simple Monitor are from 408-256-3964.

After you've entered Contact information, you can send a Test Alert to them. When you're finished, just hit Create Contact and you'll be shown your list of contacts. There is no limit to the number of Contacts.

Your Contacts page gives easy viewing of who can be alerted, and how. You can edit or delete your contacts from here, or add more.

Creating A Monitor

After you have at least one person to contact, you can create a Monitor. Enter the url to be monitored. Select who you want to be contacted when this url goes down. Now Create Monitor and you're immediately monitoring the uptime of this site.

Now that you're monitoring, you can go to your Dashboard to view your sites

Monitors

Now, that you have Contacts and Monitors, when you first log in to Dead Simple Monitor, you're taken to your Monitors page. This displays the current sites you're monitoring, their status [up, down, or optionally paused], when the site was last down, and your controls on the monitors [pause, edit, or delete].
